MIPIM - The Global Urban Festival
10-14 March 2025
Palais des Festivals, Cannes, France

MIPIM has pledged to be a pioneering event in matters of sustainability. Making MIPIM cleaner is one of our commitments.

Waste minimisation

Minimising the waste that MIPIM generates is a key priority that we share with our partners, visitors and stakeholders to make improvements year-on-year.

A plastic free, print-at-home, badge

As of MIPIM 2024, badges are plastic free, and print-at-home, with cardboard holder. Printed badges and badge-holders are recycled at the end of each show, while hooks within the lanyards became bags in 2024 thanks to a local association.

Less carpet, more sustainability

At MIPIM 2024, we welcomed you with a stronger commitment to sustainability: 3 tonnes of carpet removed compared to 2023. While not all floors allowed for full removal, progress is underway. In 2025, we aim to go even further by eliminating an additional tonne

Furniture on Temporary Lease

We care about what we use to build spaces, and how we build them. We have a store of furniture which is reused across all RX events, ensuring that tables and chairs have a long life.

Donation & re-use

We collect and donate a range of assets for reuse through our partnership with GreenBee, a non-profit association based in Cannes that specialises in upcycling materials used at events.

NEW! Donation room

Join our donation room at MIPIM: donate the materials you won't take with you to support local charities. Together, let's reduce waste and support charitable initiatives.

Support for decorators

Alongside our partner GreenBee, a non-profit association based in Cannes, we share our targets and expectations with the decorators that work at MIPIM for us and our customers.

Biowaste

Thanks to a partnership with les Alchimistes, all MIPIM-organized events transformed 150 kilos of bio-waste into high quality compost. Les Alchimistes have more than 60% of their operational positions filled by individuals on job opportunity schemes.

Lighter signage

In 2025, we will use 40% less material for indoor signage compared to 2024. Made from Abiplex, an innovative and sustainable cardboard, the signage uses paper from sustainably managed forests and water-based adhesives."

Recycling cigarettes

Cigarette butts were collected by MéGO!, for recycling. MéGO!'s aim is to raise awareness, collect, and recycle, transforming your spaces, cities, and natural environments into zero-cigarette butt areas while accelerating the transition towards a circular economy.

The MIPIM Sustainability Pledge

We are inviting exhibitors to join us in becoming signatories of an ambitious agreement and to commit to low carbon transportation, a greener stand and active engagement with the values of diversity, equity and inclusion.
